Thursday, June 24: Jam to Classic Rock with Nomad

Renowned cover band Nomad will head a 5-day event dubbed Concerts in the Park. It runs until June 29. Expect renditions of the biggest classic rock hits from the likes of the Rolling Stones, among other greats.

Attendees can expect good music and loads of fun in the Park. Bring a blanket and foldable chair to make the best of the experience. In adverse weather, plans are in place to move the event to the community center.

June 25, 26, and 27: Daddy Long Legs

“Daddy Long Legs” is one of the most anticipated June events for lovers of the arts and theater. It is a delightful musical that tells the story of Jerusha Abbott. Jerusha is an orphan at the John Grier Home. 

A mysterious benefactor sponsors her college education and requires her to send him a monthly letter.  

Discover Jerusha’s passion for literature and love in the letters she sends to her unknown benefactor, whom she refers to by his “Daddy Long Legs” nickname. The event takes place at the Falls Church Community Center and will set you back $25.

Sunday, June 27: Creek Hike

Lovers of nature will have an event to look forward to on June 27 at the Long Branch Nature Center. This wildlife reservation is teeming with exciting nature trails and creeks. 

Activities include hiking to see the many creeks in this sanctuary. It is a chance to learn about the plants and wildlife that call the creeks home and their importance to the ecosystem. Children can register, although adults must accompany them.

Every Saturday: Farmers Market

Last but not least is the award-winning farmers market that runs every Saturday. While this does not strictly fall under the June events in the Falls Church category, it deserves special attention. It is a place where locals and visitors can grab fresh local produce. You can also enjoy some live music from local entertainers.
