TRANSPORTATION

The most common transportation systems in the DC area are supervised by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). The Metrobus operates throughout the greater Washington, DC area. The company has more than 1,400 buses running on compressed natural gas. This helps to keep DC eco-friendly. Another popular transportation system is the DC Circulator. The $1 fare will take you along six routes designed for convenient access at points throughout the District. It can also be paid for by a 7-day WMATA bus pass.
