Familiar Dining Addresses Are Getting New Energy
Café Monet is the clear newcomer, but another McLean restaurant is showing how an established address can feel current without discarding its history.
Café Tatti at 6627 Old Dominion Drive is now operated by Giovanni and Sema Carlo. The French restaurant has been in McLean for 45 years, and the new operators retained its familiar interior while placing more emphasis on local, seasonal ingredients.
The menu still leans into French comfort food. Onion soup gratinée, cassoulet, duck confit, and Bolognese are among the highlighted dishes. For longtime customers, the appeal is continuity with a refreshed kitchen. For residents who have not visited in years, summer offers a reason to look again.
Two newer Tysons options expand the radius without requiring a trip into Washington.
- Chao Bàn opened in March 2026 on the third floor of Tysons Galleria at 2001 International Drive. Chef Kevin Tien and Alan Vo blend Vietnamese and Louisiana influences through two styles of phở, catfish bánh mì, spring rolls, and rice platters.
- Maggiano’s Little Italy has reopened in a relocated Tysons Corner Center space. It serves lunch and dinner and includes three private-event rooms designed for groups of roughly 50 to 150. Rigatoni D, chicken Parmesan, chicken fettuccine Alfredo, tiramisu, and Gigi’s Butter Cake are among the menu staples.

McLean Community Players will present 1776 on weekends from July 17 through August 2. The musical is tied to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Two Markets Create a Friday-to-Saturday Routine
McLean residents now have two consecutive mornings to shop for farm and food products.
The Fairfax County McLean Farmers Market operates every Friday from 8 a.m. to noon through October 30 at Lewinsville Park, 1659 Chain Bridge Road. The county verifies that participating producers grow or make what they sell. Live music begins after 9 a.m., and community organizations also make scheduled appearances. Pets are not permitted except for service animals.
The newer McLean Fresh Farmers Market runs Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October 31 at 6888 Elm Street. It focuses on farm-grown and agriculture-derived products. The market lists approximately 30 on-site parking spaces, with the vehicle entrance on Fleetwood Road.
The two-market schedule is a small but useful shift. Friday favors the established Lewinsville Park routine, while Saturday adds a downtown option near the Berlage Center and other central McLean destinations.

Tysons has added more reasons to visit without building the day around retail.
Capital One Center opened four pickleball courts at Metro Park in April 2026. The outdoor courts are open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. through early November and can accommodate singles or doubles play.

Hershey Super Sweet Adventure is confirmed open on Level 1 of Tysons Corner Center. The experience features sensory and interactive activities based on Reese’s, Hershey’s Kisses, Twizzlers, and Jolly Rancher products.
Sloomoo Institute is also expected at Tysons Corner Center, but do not build a fixed plan around it yet. The reported 17,000-square-foot attraction is designed to span two levels with slime-making, a DIY Design Bar, ASMR elements, a slime wall, interactive installations, and Sloomoo Falls. As of the latest research, no firm opening date had been announced.
Closer to downtown McLean, MeowTown Lounge at 1345 Chain Bridge Road offers timed visits with adoptable cats. The nonprofit lounge works with rescue organizations and supports inclusive employment. Confirm current reservations, prices, and visitor policies before going.

The local change is easy to miss if each opening is viewed separately. Café Monet and the Berlage Center connect dining with contemporary art.
