Winter Walk of Lights

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens – Vienna
 
November 11 to December 8 – 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm
 
December 9 to January 8 – 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm
 
The Winter Walk of Lights at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens is a dazzling display. Guests can walk the garden and enjoy the thousands of lights. Many people make sure to catch this event every holiday season. It is important to note that the event is free until December 8. From there, the tickets cost $18.
 

Holiday Tree Lighting and Parade

Strawberry Park – Fairfax
 
November 25 – 4:30 to 8:30
 
Catch the annual tree-lighting ceremony at Strawberry Park in Fairfax’s Mosaic District. The event has live entertainment and a fire truck Santa parade. The tree lighting is after the parade. After the lighting ceremony, you can also view How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Attendance is also free.
 
Bull Run Regional Park – Centreville
 
November 11 to January 8
 
Monday to Thursday – 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm
 
Friday to Sunday – 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm
 
The Bull Run Festival of Lights is one of the best light displays in the region. You can enjoy it while staying warm in your car. There are so many lights that you can turn off your headlights and drive the route without worry. You can also enjoy the holiday village at the end of the ride. Tickets start at $30 per car.
 

Reston Holiday Tree Lighting

Reston Town Center – Reston
 
November 25 – 11:00 pm to 6:00 pm
 
Check out the holiday tree lighting and parade in Reston, Virginia. The day starts with a holiday parade down Market Street.
 
You can see Santa and Mrs. Claus riding a horse-drawn carriage. The parade also has a variety of festive floats. Once the parade is over, you can head to the town center for the tree-lighting ceremony. It is a free event that can be good for the whole family.
